The immediate past governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Sources at the anti-graft agency told Channels Television that the former governor is being questioned by a crack team of operatives at the EFCC headquarters in the Jabi area of Abuja, the nation’s capital. Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a prominent Islamic scholar, has opened on how he secured the release of 37 abducted students of the College of Forestry Mechanisation in Afaka, Igabi LGA, Kaduna state. According to The Punch reports that the Islamic scholar insisted that the only way to end kidnapping and other criminal activities across the country is by negotiating with bandits. On Monday, his office disowned a website calling on Nigerians to join a volunteer organization mobilizing support. A Kenyan man was beaten mercilessly by locals after a schoolgirl accused him of molesting her.
