Immediate past vice-president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Emmanuel Osodeke, has emerged as the new president of the union. A professor of soil science at the Federal University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, Osodeke was elected president of the union during a three-day conference, which held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State on the 30th of May, 2021. The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has denied claims by publisher of Saharareporters, Omoyele Sowore, that he was shot at in Abuja during a protest against insecurity in the nation today, May 31. Reacting to his claim, the spokesperson for the command, Mariam Yusuf, in a statement released, said there was no record of any incident such as a shooting during the protest. Manchester City striker, Sergio Kün Aguero has completed a transfer move to Barcelona following his exit from Manchester City, the Spanish club have announced. The Argentina International joined Ronald Koeman’s side on a two-year deal.
