The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has commenced an indefinite strike nationwide. The president of the union, Anderson Ezeibe announced on Tuesday while addressing newsmen in Abuja. According to him, the members of the union have vowed to shut down the Nigerian Polytechnics till the Federal Government meets their demands. It would be recalled that FG on Monday invited officials of the Union to an emergency meeting over its proposed strike. Yesterday April 5, some residents of Kogi state flogged two men for staging a #BuhariMustGo protest in the state. The two anti-Buhari men stormed the area with placards with inscriptions that read ”Buhari Must Go”. They also used paint to write the same on a wall in the environment, They were however intercepted by some youths in the area who told them that Kogi state is for Buhari and that such a protest is not welcomed. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kwara State Command, has arrested four suspects in Esie and Ijan towns, Irepodun local government area of the state for allegedly raping and killing a woman.
