According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, 464 new cases of COVID19 were recorded in Nigeria on Wednesday, March 3. States with fresh cases include Lagos-131, Kaduna-69, Akwa Ibom-33, Imo-31, Katsina-30, Kano-26, Ondo-23, Yobe-20, FCT-18, Ogun-13, Rivers-12, Kebbi-11, Ekiti-9, Osun-6, Oyo-6, Borno-5, Gombe-5, Plateau-5, Edo-4, Abia-3, Delta-3 and Zamfara-1. Nigeria currently has 156,963 confirmed cases of the viral disease.  135,831 patients have successfully been treated and discharged, while 1,939 deaths have  been recorded. Veteran actor Sadiq Daba who became a household name in Nigeria for his role as Bitrus in the now rested NTA drama series Cock Crow at Dawn, died on Wednesday evening, March 3, after a long battle with Leukemia and prostate cancer. He reportedly died at his Marwa Garden residence in Alausa, Lagos State. In 2019, he came out to publicly seek financial assistance for his treatment. Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola and many other Nigerians rallied around and supported him financially. Sadly, he lost the battle to the ailment yesterday evening.
