Salihu Dovo, Chairman of Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of Taraba State has been reported killed by gunmen who kidnapped him early Sunday morning. Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, has said he is not scared of the police arresting him over the eviction notice he gave to the Fulanis in Oyo state. 964 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria on Sunday, January 25, 2021. According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, Lagos recorded 360 new cases, the highest for the day. Other states with new cases include FCT-88, Ogun-73, Imo-72, Kaduna-67, Plateau-57, Abia-41, Osun-41, Rivers-32, Kano-26, Niger-24, Benue-23, Edo-20, Cross River-20, Akwa Ibom-8, Nasarawa-6, Zamfara-6, Ekiti-6 and Jigawa-4. The agency also disclosed that they were 774 community recoveries in Lagos State. Nigeria now has a total of 121,566 confirmed cases of COVID-19. 97,228 patients have been discharged so far with 1,504 deaths recorded.

Singer Naira Marley has reacted to some school children being arrested by Amotekun operatives for modelling themselves as him.
