The Nigeria Governors’ Forum has responded to the allegations of Governors hoarding COVID-19  palliatives meant to be distributed to Nigerians.  In a statement made available on Monday October 26, the allegation was described as “inaccurate, entirely erroneous and untrue but also mischievous”.  They also reiterated that the palliatives had the CACOVID stamp embossed on them, meaning that their source is unambiguous. Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola alongside South West governors and some Ministers from the South West, paid a condolence visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Sunday, October 25 over the loss of lives and wanton destruction witnessed in the state last week. 25 inmates out of the 1,900 prisoners who escaped from Oko and Sapele Road Correctional Centres in Benin City, Edo State last Monday, October 19, have voluntarily surrendered themselves to the authorities. The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq this evening held a security council meeting with heads of the security agencies in the state. A review of the situation in the Ilorin metropolis suggested a relative calm. The meeting observed that the objective of the curfew has largely been achieved as the misguided elements who looted and vandalised public and private properties have been pushed back and normalcy restored.
