Sheffield United defeated title-chasing Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, January 27, beating the Red Devils 2-1.

Since 1973, this is the first time that Sheffield will beat United at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer’s side had the couple of chances to go top of the table but squeezed under pressure against Sheffield who are currently topping the table from the bottom and had only won once in the Premier League this season.

Kean Bryan headed home the opener after taking advantage of an error from David de Gea but former Sheffield United man, Harry Maguire scored his first goal at Old Trafford to level it up in the second half of the game.

United introduced Luke Shaw, and Edison Cavani to provide more attacking threat but Sheffield manager, Chris Wilder’s substitute, Oliver Burke,  paid off as he struck the winner via a big deflection off Axel Tuanzebe.

The outcome of yesterday match now leaves United in second spot, a point behind Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
