…Seeks Collaboration Ahead of Campaigns

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kwara State, Alhaji Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi on Sunday met the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Yaman during the interactive session held at Emirate Hotel, Ilorin shared his vision for Kwara State ahead of the PDP governorship campaign flag-off on Wednesday.

According to him, We have the vision to make Kwara State one of the best revenue-generating states apart from Lagos and a few others.

In his words: ” It is embarrassing how Kwara Government is borrowing and servicing debt. This is not sustainable at a time when the government is not generating corresponding revenue. Production of cotton alone in Kwara can generate what we need to revitalize the State”.

The PDP Governorship Candidate also promised to spread development to every part of the state.

“Every part of Kwara (South, North, and Central) will receive adequate attention from our Government. As it stands today, we already have discussions with major players in the manufacturing and food and technology industries.” He explained

“All of them are ready to bring down their industries to Kwara. DANO, Peak Milk, and a host of others too.
We are looking at investing seriously in young people by exposing them to the right way of doing things.”

Speaking on his manifesto, the Edu local government-born politician said he will run a campaign of truthfulness and present to Kwarans a realizable manifesto, adding that
“We are not going to promise what we cannot do.”

Yaman also clarified his relationship with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq says he lacks the competency to make good ideas practicable. “On relationships with the present gov;

I have had several opportunities to discuss this with Gov Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq but I am not sure he listened. Perhaps, only pretended he was listening to those beautiful ideas. I believe this is why we are where we are today. When you don’t have the competency to make good ideas practicable, you are bound to fail.”

While acknowledging the contribution of ASKOMP in disseminating information to Kwarans, Yaman sought effective collaboration with the association for a successful campaign.

Earlier, the Chairman Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP), Salihu Shola Taofeek said the umbrella body for professional Online journalists is engaging Candidates in the 2023 general elections to understand their manifestos and communicate to the citizens effectively.
