The conscientious youths parliament visits the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Kwara State, Mallam Garba Attahiru Madami in appreciation for his unending support and partnership with the team in a brief meeting at his office.

Present at the meeting today are the Head of Department for General Administration and procurement, Mallam Azeez Ibrahim, Head of Department for Voter Education and Publicity (VEP), Mallam Musa Adamu, the executive director of the NGO, Mr Goerge Oyeyiola, The programme officer, Mr Kehinde Akinsola, The field director, Mr Dada Bamise and volunteers in the team.

Matters discussed in the meeting includes the progress made so far in the organisation, the plans to create more awareness and educate the electorate on the buying and selling of votes, their ability to elect and unelect the candidate of their choice and the power of one’s PVC.

According to the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Kwara State, the NGO is to correct the widespread wrong impression currently in the media. Further stating, we are to emphasis the message “No one can vote without the PVC. Accreditation is by no other means but through technology”.

He stated bluntly that vote buying and selling does not start on the voting day but before and on the day of election. Further encouraging the team to tackle the proper education of the young and old at the grassroots and also involve the cooperation of the Economic Financial Crimes and Commission (EFCC).

According to him, he promises to keep partnering with the team before and after election.
