The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, on Wednesday, declared July 9 as Eid al-Adha, also known as Sallah. Eid al-Adha will feature the slaughtering of ram during the period known as the “festival of sacrifice”. The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kwara State has adopted the former vice-chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof Shuaib AbdulRaheem as its gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 election. The chairman of NNPP in the state, AbdulRazaq Abdulsalam announced this in Ilorin, the state capital yesterday, shortly after a meeting the stakeholders of the party had with Abdul-Raheem. “We have picked Prof Oba Shuaib AbdulRaheem as our governorship candidate.
