Nigeria Former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has been confirmed as the next Director-General of the World Trade Organization. She becomes the seventh director-general of the organization. The organization confirmed this on its Twitter handle this afternoon. She makes history as the first woman and the first African to lead the WTO. Her term starts on the 1st of March 2021 and will expire on 31 August 2025. Instagram comedian, Mr Macaroni who was arrested Saturday at the Lekki Tollgate protest alongside 39 other #OccupyLekkiTollgate protesters, released a video saying they were beaten and dehumanised by the Nigerian police. A Nigerian Air Force officer identified as Abubakar was reportedly killed by Armed bandits three weeks to his wedding. Late Abubakar was among the NAF personnel killed during a gun duel with armed bandits at Ungwan Laya near Birnin Gwari on Saturday, February 13.
