Nigerian UFC champion, Kamaru Usman was paid a whopping $1.5million (£1.1m) for his recent victorious fight which saw him retain UFC welterweight title at UFC 261.

The Nigerian Nightmare 33, dropped his American opponent, 36, at 1 minute, 2 seconds of the second round of their fight last Saturday in front of 15,000 fans in Florida.

Kamaru cashed in with £538,000 to show up, a £459,000 pay-per-view bonus, a £43,000 sponsorship bonus, and a well deserved £35,000 Performance of the Night bonus. It is the biggest payday of his career so far.

Meanwhile, Masvidal was gracious in defeat as he earned £358,000 to show, £186,000 in pay-per-view money, and a £28,000 sponsorship bonus.
