The Association Of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) has cautioned the Kwara Police Command Commissioner, CP Olaiya against gagging the press to favour his friend, Engr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed of Kwara State Polytechnic.

ASKOMP in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Secretary, Oyewale Oyelola described an attempt to detain two journalists with Informant247; Adiza-Jaji Azeez and Salihu Ayatullahi despite receiving fundamental rights enforcement by the competent court.

ASKOMP while acknowledging the professionalism displayed by the Inspector General of Police during his stay as Kwara CP, urged CP Olaiya to dent his image in an attempt to kill the ongoing investigation in Kwara State Polytechnic.

The Association insists that the Police as a law enforcement agency should comply with the law and allow warring parties to meet in court.
